Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club has been sold to GolfNorth.

New ownership takes over at Ridgetown Golf & Curling Club today after the club was sold to GolfNorth Properties.

GolfNorth is a course ownership and management group, owning 26 semi-private and public golf courses in Canada.

Ridgetown Golf & Curling Club, which opened in 1923, transferred all assets to GolfNorth, and will be available as part of the organizations diamond and diamond-plus level membership packages.

The new agreement also allows all Ridgetown members to play other GolfNorth courses in their gold, silver, and bronze levels for free.

Ridgetown opens Saturday for walking rounds only, with no tee times being accepted until a later date.

The course is annually a stop on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour, and hosts a variety of local tournaments, as well as their own club championships. Notably, Crawford McKinlay, a Ridgetown member recently earned an NCAA golf scholarship at Wayne State University.

According to the GolfNorth website, the organization has a commitment to foster community growth and Junior programs.

“GolfNorth believes in supporting the communities in which we carry on business. Over the past year, GolfNorth has helped community organizations and local charities raise over $1.0 million. GolfNorth is also a major sponsor of Canadian junior golf through its commitment to the Golf in Schools program and GolfNorth’s junior golf camps and clinics,” says the website.
