Tecumseh, ON – The ownership group of the Junior C Hockey Franchise is pleased to announce that the OHA has granted approval for the team to join the Great Lakes Junior C League effective immediately.

The ownership consists of: Gary Quenneville, President, Greg Prymack, Director of Hockey Operations, Dr. Lisa Di Gioia, Treasurer, Christine Prymack, Communications Director.

The group is excited to bring Junior C Hockey back to the community. Junior hockey last existed in Tecumseh in 2007-2008, as the Tecumseh Chiefs Jr. B team. This team subsequently moved to LaSalle. The group looks forward to promoting hockey and the development of players with the Town of Tecumseh as well as Tecumseh Shoreline Minor Hockey Association and other stakeholders.

Mayor Gary McNamara commented on the approval: “We are excited to hear of the approval of a new Jr. C hockey franchise to be based in Tecumseh. The tradition of competitive sports in our community is long established and we welcome this new team to Tecumseh Arena. I’m confident the Town’s residents and businesses will embrace junior hockey in Tecumseh to continue supporting the development of elite athletes from the Essex-Windsor area.”
