Wallaceburg’s Cory Lucier made a familiar debut, on a familiar path recently, as the Wallaceburg Red Devils sniper stepped onto the floor for his first career Junior A lacrosse game with the Six Nations Arrows.

Not only did Lucier make his debut, but he scored his first career goal, and added an assist for the Arrows in a 12-7 victory over Barrie Lakeshores.

Fellow Wallaceburg product Jordan Durston had a goal and 2 assists in the game. Durston followed a similar path, playing for the Red Devils, and affiliating with the Six Nations Arrows two seasons ago, before playing for the team full time last season, and helping them to a Minto Cup as Canadian champions.

Another Wallaceburg Red Devils and Six Nations alumni, Joel Shepley, did the same, before graduating to the semi-professional Southwest Cyclops this season.

In 11 games with the Wallaceburg Red Devils this season, Lucier, who also plays hockey with the Wallaceburg Lakers Junior C team, has 22 goals and 30 assists for 52 points. Lucier’s totals put him sitting 6th overall in Provincial Junior B scoring.
