The tournament, which started May 26 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, concluded this weekend with the Canadian women defeating the USA 7-0 in the gold medal game.
It was retribution for a loss the day before, where the USA beat Canada 6-2. The Canadians then rebounded to beat Slovakia 8-0 in the semi-finals, setting up a rematch for gold.
Langan and Gillett have played together at multiple levels, including ball hockey with the Chatham Coyotes, and ice hockey with the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks.
A third player on Canada’s team Gwynne Attenborough, is also an alumni of the Chatham Coyotes ball hockey program.
