Maple City Cage Fighting Planning First Event
ChathaA new group of MMA enthusiasts, dubbed Maple City Cage Fighting, is trying to promote and bring mixed martial arts events to Chatham-Kent.
The group, which launched their website, www.maplecitycagefighting.com this week, is tentatively aiming for an early October date for their first fight event in Chatham-Kent.
According to the organizations website, their goal is to provide additional opportunities for local MMA fighters in a safe and respectful environment.
“To provide the most prestigious amateur mixed martial arts events that give local fighters a place to start building their career with integrity and fairness,” says Maple City Cage Fighting’s website of their mission.

Chatham-Kent has a growing MMA community, which features success stories such as UFC fighters Chad Laprise and Chris Clements, as well as pro fighter Jesse Gross.
