Chaos Find Silver Lining
“Couldn’t be any happier for this special group of girls as they ended the season on such a positive note, one of the best group of girls to ever have had the privilege of coaching,” wrote head coach Kelly Beausejour.
The Chaos began tournament ranked 10th out of 20 teams. In Saturdays pool play they went undefeated(6-0) with victories against Saint VC(Grand Rapids,MI) and Macomb Juniors(Macomb,MI). In Sunday mornings challenge game to decide Tier1 or Tier 2 the Chaos faced a tough MVA (Lansing, Michigan) squad losing the first set 21-25 they rebounded to win the next 2 sets 25-20,15-9 to move on to the tier 1 semi-final against Capital VC(Kalamazoo,MI). Before the match, the girls talked about this possibly being their last match together as Kent Chaos, using that as motivation they won the 1st set 25-10 thanks to great serving and passing from Hunter Medd and winning the 2nd set 25-14.
In the Tier 1 Gold medal game they faced the tournaments #1 seed Dig This(Troy,MI), who lived up to their team name with a strong offensive attack. The Chaos played the best they could but came up a little short of being crowned Michigan Junior Volleyball State Champs losing 20-25, 25-27.
