Chatham-Kent May Athlete of the Month Voting
Below are CKSN’s nominees for the May 2015 Chatham-Kent Athlete of the Month.
Voting will continue until Sunday, June 7, with the winner being named Monday, June 8.

Delainey Johnson – Johnson was the fastest woman in Chatham-Kent and Southwestern Ontario in May. She won the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m races at the LKSSAA championships and SWOSSAA championships representing CKSS. After dropping the 800m to focus on her primary events, Johnson then won the OFSAA West Regionals in the 1500m and 3000m, crushing her competition en route to an OFSAA entry in both.
Clare Thompson – The UCC senior student jumped her way to multiple medals in May. Thompson, won first at the LKSSAA championships, SWOSSAA championships, and then earned an OFSAA berth winning the OFSAA West Regionals in both long jump and triple jump in May.
Cory Lucier – The leading scorer for the Wallaceburg Red Devils Junior B lacrosse team had an incredible month of May for his team. In 11 games in May, Lucier collected 20 goals and 50 points for the Wallaceburg Red Devils. He was also called up to play for the Junior A Six Nations Arrows where he added a goal and an assist in his first Junior A contect.
Luke Van Rycheghem – The Kent Bridge native made his Team Canada debut, playing for Canada’s National Junior Baseball Team at in the Dominican Summer League. Van Rycheghem started at both the catchers and designated hitter position for team Canada, and had several mutli-hit games in the series.
