EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash Cougar of the Week: Lucas Kita
“Lucas was one of many leaders that emerged during the Oakville Titans win on Father’s Day,” said Chatham-Kent Cougars president Sel Jordan of Kita. “Excellent Father’s Day gift for Stan Kita, who is on the Peewee coaching staff.”
Kita helped the Chatham-Kent Cougars Peewee team to a 47-6 road win over the Oakville Titans, playing at the running back and quarterback positions, and scoring three touchdowns in the victory.
“He ran hard football, made great decisions and the O line created great blocks,” said Peewee coach Scott Barko of Kita and his team.
Kita, a Sarnia resident who plays Minor Football in Sarnia, is in his first season with the Chatham-Kent Cougars after the Sarnia Sturgeons did not offer a Peewee program. Kita’s older brother Josh is also a standout defensive end with the Senior Varsity Cougars.
“Both are great players and are even better young men, parents Stan and Joy must be very proud of their accomplishments,” said Jordan of the Kita family.
Kita and the Peewee Cougars were scheduled to play the Halton Crimson Tide this weekend, but their opponents cancelled due to an insufficient number of players.
