Chatham’s Mallory Johnston and Team Canada opened with a pair of wins Monday at the 2015 Streethockey Championships in Zug, Switzerland.

Johnston, an assistant captain for Team Canada, helped her Canadian squad defeat Great Britain 10-0 to open the tournament.

Canada followed up that lopsided opening win with another 10-0 win over Italy later in the day. Johnston picked up her first point of the tournament, an assist on Alicia Blomberg’s first period goal.

Johnston is a defender for Canada, much like she is on the ice. On ice, Johnston has played in the CWHL for the Brampton Thunder, and is a graduate of Colgate.

The former Chatham Coyotes ball hockey player, Johnston already has a gold and silver medal representing Canada’s street hockey team.

Canada has four round robin games remaining against Switzerland, Slovakia, USA, and the Czech Republic.
