Local Sports Brief: June 24, 2015

- Thamesville’s Trent Fox is ready for the upcoming NHL draft. The 17-year-old netted 13 goals and had 33 points in his rookie season in the OHL. Fox started the season with Erie but was traded to the Belleville Bulls who later became the Hamilton Bulldogs. Fox is ranked 139th overall among North American Skaters.
- Clachan’s Travis Konecny is ranked 14th overall by Central Scouting. Many mock drafts have Konecny falling to 18th where he will be drafted by the Ottawa Senators. He currently plays in Ottawa where he captains the OHL’s 67’s.
- The Ontario Hockey Federation is appealing to Hockey Canada about a ruling to allow the Tecumseh Chiefs into the Great Lakes Jr C league. The OHA originally allowed the Chiefs into the league but on appeal their ruling was overturned by the Ontario Hockey Federation. Five of nine teams in the Great Lakes loop voted against the Chiefs getting into the league.
