Local Sports Briefs: June 25

CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsThe Wallaceburg Red Devils hit the trail for their Jr B Lacrosse playoff opener tomorrow night. The Red Devils will be in Hagarsville to play the Six Nations Rebels. Game two will be Sunday afternoon in Wallaceburg at 3pm.

Tanner Cole, Emily VanDamme and Megan Seed will all be representing Wallaceburg at the National Lacrosse Championships. All three have been selected to team Ontario in their respective divisions.

The NRG Essentials Boys Under 16-Sting beat Chatham 4-1 last night. Evan Wells, Tyrese Gittens, Nik Podlacha and Aiden Lachine all scored for Wallaceburg. The Sting sit with a 3-4 record this season.

Wallaceburg’s Camden Fischer was named to the Royal Canadian Legion District “A” Track Team. Fisher will compete in Midget Boys Shot Put and Discuss. Fischer will be joined by Felix Marchand, Austin McGuiggan, Delainey Johnson, Morgan Desjardins, Ally Oulds, Julia Stephens and Ryan Muharrem.

Ron Day of Chatham nailed a hole in one at Maple City Country Club. Day aced hole number 12 using a pitching wedge.
