Local Sports Briefs: June 26, 2015
- Good Luck to the Wallaceburg Red Devils as they kick off their post season tonight in Hagarsville against the Six Nations Rebels. The Red Devils will be back in Wallaceburg for game two on Sunday afternoon for a 3pm match up at Memorial Arena.
- The Wallaceburg Warriors Women’s Fastball team hammered Courtright 25-3 last night Lambton Kent Ladies Fastball play. Amanda Wilson and Kris Moninger each cracked out three run doubles to lead the offensive attack while Amy Hull scored the win on the hill.
- The Chatham Jr. Diamonds nipped Courtright 4-3 last night. Mark Vanrychenham picked up the win on the hill.
- Big football weekend for the Chatham-Kent Cougars as they are holding Homecoming weekend at the C-K Athletic Complex. The Bantams kick things off against Halton at 1pm on Saturday.
- The Chatham Sports Hall of fame doled out $200 bursaries yesterday to some graduating students from the four different high schools in Chatham. UCC’s Maureen Latimer, CKSS’s Julie Earle, Raquelle Derynck of John McGregor and Alex Sluys of Chatham Christian scored the awards.
