The Blenheim Blades are welcoming back a major piece to their 2015-2016 puzzle, as the team announced this week that forward Drew Marlatt would be returning to the organization.

Marlatt, a Windsor Spitfires draft pick, spent last season with the GOJHL’s Lambton Shores Predators Junior B organization.

In his rookie Junior B season, Marlatt, a Chatham resident, scored 15 goals, and added 12 assists for 27 points in 45 games.

The year prior, playing with the Blenheim Blades, Marlatt was named the GOJHL Rookie of the Year after scoring 21 goals and adding 18 assists for 39 points in 36 games.

Marlatt was traded last offseason from the Chatham Maroons to the Lambton Shores Predators in exchange for Steven Beenackers.

The majority of Blenheim’s roster from last season will remain intact for the upcoming season, as only captain Ben Pataki graduates to age, although the roster is expected to lose a player or two to Junior B.
