Gardiner Signs Commits To LaSalle Vipers
“Nolan’s competitve nature made it an easy decision,” said LaSalle Vipers head coach Bill Bowler in a team news release. “He was on an excellent (Chatham-Kent Cyclones) minor midget team and competed against the best players in the province. We expect Nolan to be a contributor immediately. He should excel at the B level.”
Garinder, who was drafted by the Ottawa 67s in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection draft, spent last season with the Great Lakes Junior C Wheatley Sharks. Gardiner scored 3 goals and added 9 assists, along with 66 penalty minutes in 39 games with Wheatley last season.
Known as a competitive, and physical forward, Gardiner himself is a self-proclaimed grinder.
“I’m a gritty player, I finish all my hits and I drive the net hard,” said the six-foot-one forward, and former Chatham-Kent Cyclone in the Vipers’ release.
Last year, the LaSalle Vipers advanced to the GOJHL Sutherland Cup final.
