The Six Nations Rebels continue to play the role of lacrosse juggernaut, scoring 31 goals through the first two games of their opening playoff series against the Wallaceburg Red Devils. The Rebels now have Wallaceburg backed into a corner, up two games to none in the best-of-five match-up.

Six Nations took the series opener at home by a final of 19-6. The Rebels’ Mitch Green led the way with double digit points, contributing one goal and nine assists. Layne Smith added four goals and three helpers, while Ron Elijah-Brown and Chayton King both lit the goal lamp twice. Mitchell Lilley, Carter Hastings and Parker Gilhuly each added three points for Wallaceburg in the opener.

The Red Devils, normally an offense-minded team, much like Six Nations, were nearly held off the scoresheet in game two, at home inside Memorial Arena. A rarity in lacrosse, Six Nations celebrated a 12-1 victory to take a stranglehold on the series.

Wallaceburg will look to break out from the Rebels’ defensive gridlock in a pivotal third game of the series on Friday in Hagersville. Game time is 8pm at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. If necessary, the next home game is scheduled for Memorial Arena on Saturday, July 4th at 3 pm.

The Rebels have won four consecutive Founders Cup as national junior ‘B’ lacrosse champions.
