Brady Pataki Ready For Next Step
Last season, after only turning 16 in October, Pataki had a solid rookie OHL campaign with the Sudbury Wolves, scoring 6 goals and adding 4 assists for 10 points in 58 games.
Next season, Pataki hopes he can build on his first season and be a bigger part of the Wolves’ attack.
“I think I will be able to get on the ice more and have a bigger impact on the ice,” said Pataki about the 2015-2016 season.
“I don’t expect to be counted on right away I will have to work my way to that point, but I hope I can contribute in a big way this year.”
Due to his late birth date, Pataki still has another season before he is NHL Draft eligible, so his focus, and the focus of the Sudbury Wolves is still to help the youngster develop. Already six-foot-two and more than 215 lbs, Pataki has the frame to be an imposing power forward.
Now, he’s working hard to prepare himself to have a big season, to match his big frame.
“I just have to come back in the best shape I can and be ready to perform next season,” said the former Chatham-Kent Cyclones forward, who was a 4th round pick of the Wolves in 2014.
“I think I have to improve on my speed to bring another threat to my game and have a chance to put up points this season.”
Pataki will continue to work off ice at Athletes Fuel in Chatham in preparation for camp later this summer.
