Dresden’s Trevor Thompson Honoured
FOX Sports Detroit’s Trevor Thompson received the Ty Tyson Award of Excellence for Sports Broadcasting on July 13th.
The award is doled out by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association, and is the latest piece of hardware for Thompson’s mantle.
Trevor, a four-time Emmy Award winner, has become well known for his work in Detroit with the Red Wings, Tigers and Pistons, but is originally from Dresden and continues to keep in touch with his hometown roots.
Thompson told FOX Sports he is humbled and thrilled to win the award.
” (To) have my name on the same award as broadcasters I truly respect and admire, including Dan Dickerson, George Blaha, Ken Daniels, Mario Impemba and the late, great Ernie Harwell,” Thompson told FOX Sports. “It doesn’t get much better than that!”
Very nice Trev- but radio guys, the word you meant is “doled” not “dolled”
LOL thanks Mac! Simply a typo – or a momentary lack of brain power. This “radio guy” knows how to spell too… most days 😉
