EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash Cougars of the Week: Carter Wood and Josh Graham
Carter Wood and Josh Graham are the EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash Chatham-Kent Cougars of the Week for the week ending July 10.
Both Wood and Graham are on the Chatham-Kent varsity team. Both played their last games as Cougars this past weekend.
Carter Wood will be attending the University of Windsor as a linebacker, where he was recruited to play for the Lancers, while Josh Graham will be playing for the AKO Fratmen.
“Carter Wood is the emotional leader of the team,” said head coach and Cougars’ president Selwyn Jordan.
Wood had an amazing game this past weekend for the Cougars with 9 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 tackles for losses. Carter played hurt, but refused to take a play off.
“Carter Wood was a huge factor for the excellent team defensive performance. I would like to wish Carter well as a Windsor Lancer this fall season,” continued Jordan.
“Josh Graham practically played the whole game. Josh was our full time kicker and punter. Josh also played WRer and DB on Sunday,” said Jordan. “Josh had his best day as a kicker.”
Graham had a 38-yard average for punts, many with great hang time with very little return opportunities and also hit a 32 yard field goal.
On defense, Graham had 4 tackles, and 2 batted balls.
“Josh is a Sarnia player that joined the Cougars this year who played for Sarnia Northern and he blended in with the Chatham-Kent players quickly,” continued coach Jordan.
The Chatham-Kent Varsity Cougars will not complete their season this weekend after their opponents forfeited their game. The Cougars finished 1-7 this season.
