Lakers Make Playoffs Their Goal
Newly appointed head coach Marc Swayze says he was happy with the overall turnout for the camp.
“We had 50 plus kids at the camp and the talent over all was pretty decent.”
This will be Swayze first time behind the bench for the Lakers after being named head coach in mid-April. Two seasons ago Swayze served as head coach and general manager for the Dresden Jr. Kings.
Swayze says his goal this season with the Lakers is to make them more competitive again. “We want to be a hard working competitive team. Our first year goal is to get back into the playoffs.”
Last year the Lakers did not see the results they were looking for, ending the season with a 6-31-0 record and in last place.
Swayze says this season he’s hoping to turn around the players work ethic and attitudes. “In order to turn this season around we have to work hard, make some changes in the system and change the perception and attitude of the organization.”
Swayze says the only goal for this season is to make the playoffs.
