Local Sports Briefs: July 10, 2015
- The Port Lambton Sr. Pirates will be hosting the Great Lakes Canadians in an exhibition baseball game this Sunday. The Canadians are made up of some of the top prospects in Ontario. The first pitch gets tossed out at 2p.m.
- The Wallaceburg Warriors women’s fastball team pounded Brownstones 18-8 in Lambton-Kent Ladies Fastball action last night. Ang Larabee picked up the win on the hill while Randa Gillalty and Tanner Jacklin each had three run triples.
- Bridget Carelton is ready to go for the FIBA under 19 Women’s Basketball Championships in Russia. Carleton, who was a torchbearer for the Pan Am Games yesterday in Toronto has donned the Maple Leafs three times.
- Ridgetown’s Chris Von Martels will be competing in Dressage at the Pan Am Games. Von Martels will be competing Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
- MacKenzie Butzer of Chatham fired an 8 over 80 yesterday at the Ontario Women’s Amateur Golf Championships. Butzer sits 33rd in the tournament being held at St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
