  • St. Catherines beat the Wallaceburg Thrashers 14-10 in Sr.B Lacrosse play on the weekend. Clint LaMarsh scored four goals for the Thrashers.
  • The Wallaceburg Griffins Tyke team brought home silver medals from the Scott Gerrie Memorial Tournament in Fergus on the weekend.
  • Bridget Carleton scored 15 points for Canada but it wasn’t enough as Spain knocked off Canada 63-53 in FIBA under 19 exhibition play.
  • The Chatham Express blanked Woodstock 5-0 in Men’s Premier Division action of the Western Ontario Soccer League. Keegan Pittock scored twice for Chatham.
  • London Marconi knocked off the Chatham Eagles Women’s Soccer team 2-1 in WOSL action. Kennedy King scored Chatham’s goal.
  • The Chatham Strikers Under-13 Girls Soccer team were golden on the weekend as they played in the Cambridge Competitive Tourney. The Strikers were 2-1 in pool play and beat St Catherine’s 1-0 in the Championship game.
  • Chad “The Disciple” Laprise has been added to the UFC Fight Card for August 23rd in Saskatoon.
  • 14-Year-Old Jake Hooker won the South Buxton Raceway Mid-Season Championship in the Sports Stock Class. Hooker has won three features this year.
  • Dale Glassford won his seventh straight Late Model Feature while Joel Dick won his sixth straight Modified Feature. Matt Sorrell of Dresden was the winner of the Mini-Mod Feature.
  • Nick Steward continued his dominance at Dresden Raceway as he drove three winners on the day. Mark Williams and Garrett Rooney each had driving doubles.
  • Dresden Raceway had its first dead heat for win in almost six years as CANTGOWRONGWITHLUCK and SPILLING THE BEANS crossed the wire at the same second. The total handle on the day was $19,380.
