Madison Broad Stays Golden At Provincials
Madison Broad, or should we call her Midas, once again has struck gold. With a combination of skill and toughness, Broad captured four gold medals at the Swim Ontario Long-Course Provincial Championships this past weekend, despite hitting her head in warm-ups. After a little rest, she was able to hop back in the pool. Madison, a member of the Chatham ‘Y’ Pool Sharks, swam like a tsunami of resiliency and determination destroying everything in her wake, which helped her capture her fourth and final gold of the weekend in the 200m backstroke.
She received gold in the 200 back , the 100 back, the 50 free with a new best time of 27.45, and the 100 fly with a new best time of 1:04.78. She swam 8th in the 100 breast and a 12th in the 200 free. She did get hit in the head in the warm- ups and had to be taken out of the pool as she was watched for a concision; no signs of one yet.
In the near future, Madison will be partaking in the Age Group National and Senior Nationals. After a short but well deserved two week break, she will be back at it again, bringing home gold medals. No wonder gold prices are so high.
