Wes Cunningham has done his time in Europe. And each time, he’s decided that North American soil was enticing.

Entering his 8th professional campaign, Cunningham has signed with the ECHL’s Missouri Mavericks after playing a season abroad in France with the Rouen Dragons where he won a French championship.

“I really enjoyed playing overseas last season, but I am very excited to be back in North American and to have signed with such a great organization,” said Cunningham in a Mavericks release. “I have heard nothing but good things about the Missouri Mavericks and I can’t wait to being another season!”

Cunningham last played in the ECHL in 2013-2014 when he served as an assistant captain for the Bakersfield Condors. That season, Cunningham totalled 26 points in 57 games.

In total, the former Chatham Maroons defender has played 322 ECHL games, and has also played in the AHL, and Norway.
