Local Sports Briefs: August 11, 2015
- Jordan Durston and the Six Nations Arrows are one win away from the Ontario Jr. “A” Lacrosse Championship series after beating the Peterborough Lakers 13-6 last night. Durston scored two goals and added four assists in the victory. The Arrows lead the series three games to one.
- Chatham’s Kyle Wicks fired a two under 70 which was good for a second place finish in the Jamieson Golf Tour’s Collegiate Men’s division. Wicks sits in third place in the standings. Brodie Weaver of Chatham finished in sixth place after a three over 75.
- Chatham’s Brooke McKinnon shot an 82 which was good for second place in the Junior Girls Division. McKinnon is in second place in the standings.
- Laura Martin of Chatham finished fourth in the Collegiate Women’s division with an 86. Martin is currently in third place.
- Kent Bridge’s Luke VanRychenham has his passport ready as he will be joining the Canadian Jr Men’s Baseball Team in Australia. Canada will play an exhibition series down under before travelling to Japan for the World Baseball Confederation Under-18 World Cup.
