Local Sports Briefs: August 12, 2015
- The Six Nations Arrows are on the verge of winning the Ontario Jr “A” Lacrosse Championship as they host the Peterborough Lakers in game five of the Championship series tonight. Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston has been a huge part of the Arrows success with 15goals and 28 assist for 43 points in just 12 playoff games.
- Tilbury’s Haley Katona sits in seventh place after the first round of the Ontario Bantam Girls Golf Championships being held at Sawmill Creek Golf Resort. Katona fired an opening round 84 on the par 71 course.
- The Wallaceburg Sting are currently third in the Premier Division of the Western Ontario Soccer League. Kurtis Lubbers and Casey McGee each scored twice and Brad Maxim added a single goal as the Sting beat St Mary’s “A” 5-3 on Sunday.
