Local Sports Briefs: August 4th, 2015
- Wallaceburg’s Madison hauled in a total of five medals from the Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships in Quebec City. Broad wrapped up the meet with a gold medal in the 100m Backstroke and a silver medal in the 50m Butterfly.
- Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston scored once and added an assist as the Six Nations Arrows drew first blood in their Ontario Jr “A” Lacrosse Series with the Peterborough Lakers. The final score was 12-9 in favour of Six Nations and the series continues tonight.
- The Chatham Eagles Women’s soccer team beat Sarnia 1-0 yesterday. Katie Buckler scored the lone goal while Kailey Houston picked up the shut out.
- Nate St Pierre scored two goals to lead the Chatham Attack to a 5-1 win over London Oakridge in WOSL Second Division play.
- Dresden Raceway wrapped up their 2015 meet yesterday with Donnie Rankin Jr. highlighting the day with three wins. Nick Steward and Tyler Borth each had driving doubles. The total handle yesterday was $40,474 as the track averaged $19, 718 per day over the course of the meet.
