Former Chatham Maroons star Alex Morgan will be back on the ice this Fall, after an injury ended his season prematurely last year.

Morgan will be attending Nipissing University and hopes to crack their hockey team to continue his career.

“I’m starting my education and after meeting with the hockey coach it seems to be all up to me and the door is open for me to work hard, go in and be a part of a growing program up there,” says Morgan, who also spent parts of two seasons in the OHL.

Morgan will be studying Physical Education and Health at Nipissing, while working toward his on ice goals.

“I’m striding toward being a student athlete and just like anything in hockey there is no guarantees,” said Morgan, who scored 24 goals and 43 points in 42 games with Chatham last season.

Morgan will attend Nipissing’s training camp this month in hopes of securing a roster spot with the team.
