Clachan’s Travis Konecny did his part to impress coaches and scouts at the 2015 Canadian National Junior hockey team development camp this week, setting up three goals for Team Canada in a World Junior Showcase game win over the Czech Republic.

Canada beat the Czech Republic 7-1, with Konecny’s line providing most of the production.

In the second frame, Konecny set up goals by Haydn Fleury and Braydon Point, before assisting on the final goal of the game in the third period, another marker from Point.

Canada also beat Russia Monday 4-1, but Konecny didn’t play in the split-squad game.

The showcase series concludes this week with another game against Russia and the Czech Republic.

Konecny was a first round draft pick, 24th overall, of the Philadelphia Flyers in this year’s NHL Draft. He was the captain of the OHL’s Ottawa 67s, scoring 68 points in 60 games for his team.
