Wicks, MacKinnon Win On Jamieson Tour

The Jamieson Junior Golf Tour had its ninth and final event of the season today at Ambassador Golf Club. At stake was both the tournament’s individual event titles as well as the overall season long tour championship.

In the Junior Girls Division Brooke Mackinnon of Maple City fired a fine 77 to win the day’s event. Brooke’s win however was not enough to overtake Melanie Burgess of Roseland who hung on to win the tour championship.

In the Collegiate Men’s Division Kyle Wicks of Links of Kent broke through with his first win of the season with a 73. Michigan Wolverine Bryce Evon took the tour championship title. In the collegiate women’s division, Sara Holland of Western took the win with an 88. The win clinched the overall tour Championship for Holland.

In the Junior Boys division Liam Fisk of Essex shot an excellent 68 in windy conditions to take the title. Liam’s round was highlighted by an amazing start of 6 under after 7 holes. Nicholas Mihalo of Roseland was second with a 71 followed by Thomas DeMarco of Essex with 72. DeMarco’s 72 was good enough to take the overall tour championship edging Marcus Slipchuk by 3 points on the season.
