Baggio Off To Hot Start At Windsor

A start to her University athletics career couldn’t get much better than it was for Chatham’s Keely Baggio.

Baggio, who played her first ever games for the University of Windsor Lancers women’s soccer team, was named the Lancers Athlete of the Week to open her OUA career.

Windsor’s website said the following about Baggio’s opening weekend performance,

“In her first weekend with the Blue & Gold, first year defensemen Keely Baggio played all 180 minutes in the team’s two weekend games. The Chatham, ON native stepped up and played a key role in the Lancers 3-0 shut out victory over the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon.”

The Lancers split their opening weekend on the road, defeating the Brock Badgers 3-0, after falling to the Guelph Gryphons 1-0.

Fellow Chatham product Jordan Carr also made her OUA debut with the Windsor Lancers this weekend, starring in Windsor’s win against Brock.
