Chatham Cricket Club Hosting Grand Opening
The open house will showcase the sport, encourage community members to participate for a “hand –
on” experience followed by a demonstration match.
Chatham Cricket Club was formed in July 2015 and, currently has more than 25 registered members dedicated to enhance the spirit of sportsmanship and popularize the game of cricket in Chatham. The ultimate goal of the club is to promote the game of cricket in Chatham-Kent, particularly among the local youth who have traditionally exhibited a strong passion for all forms of sport.
The Municipality of Chatham has generously provided an official ground for the Club at Ferguson Park, Thamesville.
A regular season begins in April and continues till November spanning a period of 28 weeks. During the season, club members practice twice a week and participate in friendly tournaments and league competitions over weekends. Our clubwas able to reach the cricket loving community of Chatham with an extensive media and newspaper coverage and aspire to reach its full potential in the coming seasons.
As a new and upcoming club that’s slowly gathering recognition, the Chatham Cricket Club is looking for support for the event.
The event will be formally inaugurated on the 12th September 2015 by Mayor Randy Hope in the presence of other officials from the Chatham-Kent.
