The Ontario Hockey Association is looking to bring back Intermediate hockey, an age group designed for players who recently completed their Junior hockey career, but are not ready to leave competitive hockey.

The category would compete for an OHA Championship and players would have the opportunity to affiliate with teams in the OHA’s Senior AAA league.

Players would be aged 20-25, with some allowance for a few players under the age of 30 to be eligible for each team.

The league, which will run a slightly shorter schedule that Junior programs, is slated to get going next season.

Good question. They haven’t specified details yet, but I did hear there would be a focus on Southwestern Ontario first.
