Local Sports Briefs: September 11
- The Dresden Kings kick off their Great Lakes Jr C Season tonight as they take on the Alvinston Flyers at the Lambton-Kent Memorial Agricultural Centre. You can catch the action 99.1FM with a 7:30pm puck drop.
- The Chatham Maroons are in London for the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Showcase Tournament. The Maroons open the tournament against Niagara Falls at Western Fair Arena.
- Thamesville’s Trent Fox will be playing for the St Louis Blues in the NHL Prospects Tournament this weekend. Fox who finished tied for 11th in OHL rookie scoring currently plays for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Fox’s older brother Dane also played for St Louis in this tourney back in 2013 but he is in the Vancouver Canucks system.
- The Chatham Cricket Club will be holding the grand opening of their new pitch this Saturday at Ferguson Park in Thamesville. The event goes from 1pm-4pm and will feature an exhibition match as well as am on hands demonstration for onlookers.
