Gardiner Signs With Ottawa 67s
The 1998 born forward signed this week with the OHL’s Ottawa 67s after impressing the team in their training camp.
“”It feels so great to sign with such a great organization,” says Gardiner. “I’m looking forward to a great season.”
Gardiner, an 11th round selection of the 67s, 203rd overall in 2014, suited up for the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League’s Wheatley Sharks last season scoring 3 goals and 9 assists, and collecting 66 penalty minutes in 39 games.
The year prior, Gardiner played for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones, helping them to the OHL Cup before breaking his femur.
Gardiner joins fellow Chatham-Kent Cyclones alumni, and NHL first round draft pick Travis Konecny on the 67s roster, as well as former Chatham Maroons forward Sam Studnicka, who is entering his final season of OHL eligibility.
Earlier this offseason, Gardiner committed to the GOJHL’s LaSalle Vipers as his Junior B club for the following season.
With his signing however, Gardiner looks to start the season with the OHL’s Ottawa 67s.
