– The Wallaceburg Lakers will be hosting long-time rival the Dresden Kings tonight for their home opener of the Great Lakes Jr C Hockey League. The new look Lakers have a goal of making the playoffs for new Coach/Gm Mark Swayze. The Lakers have recently signed Kaiden Ritchie and Alex Carriere.
– The Essex 73’s dropped the Mooretown Flags 5-1 last night and improved their record to 3-0. The 73’s have outscored their opponents 19-2 in three games.
– Thamesville’s Trent Fox picked up an assist for the St. Louis Blues as they routed the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 in the third place game at the NHL Prospects Tourney in Traverse City Michigan.
– Luke Skaarup of Chatham has his sights set on the World Strongest Man Competition in November after finishing ninth at the Canadian Strongest Man Competition last week.
– Luke VanRycheghem of Kent Bridge is participating in the Toronto Blue Jays Academy Tournament 12 this week. The Academy is showcasing Canada’s top College Eligible players.
– Chatham’s Genevieve Sasseville brought home a bronze medal from the Lakeside Kids of Steel Triathalon. Sasseville competed in the 12-13-year-old category.
