Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston is one step closer to playing professional lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League, as he signed with the NLL’s Vancouver Stealth this week.

Durston signed a one year contract with the team, after they selected him in the second round 19th overall in this year’s NLL draft. Durston was the team’s first pick in this year’s NLL draft.

“Being drafted and signing a contract with the Vancouver Stealth is an absolute dream come true,” said Durston in a team press release. “I have always wanted to play in the NLL for as long as I can remember, and for Vancouver to allow me an opportunity to play at the professional level is truly a blessing.”

Playing for the OLA Junior A Six Nations Arrows, Durston recorded 64 points in 19 regular season games and helped his team win a Minto Cup championship registering 63 points in 19 playoff games.

Prior to Six Nations, Durston played for the Wallaceburg Red Devils Junior B lacrosse team.

The Vancouver Stealth will host training camp next month before opening their 2016 schedule at home on January 9 against the New England Black Wolves.
