October 15: Local Sports Briefs
– The Wallaceburg Lakers retired the Number “7” Jersey of Jason White in a pre-game ceremony last night. White was tragically killed in an auto accident while driving on Highway 402 last February in snowstorm. When the Lakers hit the ice Brenden Ritchie and Cory Lucier scored first period goals but that was it for Wallaceburg as Wheatley rallied with four straight goals to take the win 4-2. Mitchell and Eric Prudence scored for the Sharks as well as Matt Taylor and Brady Hillock to seal the win.
– Wallaceburg Minor Baseball will be holding their AGM next Tuesday night at the Wallaceburg Municipal Centre. Parents are encouraged to attend the meeting that starts at 7pm.
– In Junior Boys “A” Volleyball the Lambton Kent Cardinals were a perfect 6-0 in the tourney that was held in Tilbury. North Lambton was 3-3, Ridgetown 2-4 while ESPC had a 1-5 record.
