Ian Faubert Named Maroons Captain
Faubert, a 1995 born forward in his 5th season with the Chatham Maroons, had been serving as an assistant captain this season until captain Brayden Hopkins decided to leave the team to play Junior C in Blenheim.
Through 25 games this season, Ian Faubert sat among GOJHL leaders with 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points.
He was also named the GOJHL Western Conference Offensive Player of the Month for October.
This is the second straight season the Chatham Maroons have had a midseason captain change after Steven Szekesy took over for Michael Verboom last season after Verboom started his NCAA career half a season early.
Chatham is on a five game winning streak including a 5-4 overtime win Sunday against Sarnia.
Chatham will travel to take on the LaSalle Vipers Wednesday.
