Jr. Kings Movin’ On Up

The Dresden Jr. Kings have taken a temporary hold on seventh place in the GLJCHL thanks to a 7-2 win over Wheatley and Alvinston’s 6-2 loss to Blenheim on Friday night.

Dresden was led by one of the league’s top offensive weapons, first year King Kyle Dawson, who along with Derek Shaw finished with two goals and one assist each. D-man Steven Funk added three helpers for Dresden. Derrick Van Every, John Montgomery and Kevin Ritzer also scored for the Kings.

Mitchell Prudence and Wheatley’s sniper Brett Bowman both found the back of the net for the Sharks. Wheatley now sits in sixth place, just two points ahead of Dresden in the standings.

The Kings visit Blenheim Saturday night during the Blades’ 50th Anniversary celebration and Alumni Night. Puck drop is 6:15 pm. Wheatley hosts the ninth place Wallaceburg Lakers on Monday night.
