The Wallaceburg Lakers couldn’t keep pace with the Alvinston Flyers Saturday night on the road, dropping a 6-2 decision.

Karsten Berg put the Lakers down early, scoring a pair of goals in the opening five minutes of the game.

Alvinston’s Joe Stock would add another in the first to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead after one.

In the second period, it was Kole Keating’s turn to rack up the score, potting a pair of goals before the midway point of the frame.

Wallaceburg would finally see signs of life in the second with Justin Lindsay breaking the shutout, with assists going to George Wood and Ryan Greenaway.

Wood would score another minutes later on the powerplay, with assists going to Brett Barnes and Justin Melo, making the score 5-2 after two.

In the third however, it was again Alvinston who found the back of the net with Matt Gough finishing off the scoring for the 6-2 win.

Wallaceburg is back in action this Wednesday when they host the Blenheim Blades.
