A night after Halloween, Chatham Maroons forward Austin Thompson pulled a trick on the St. Thomas Stars…a hat trick.

Thompson, a Leamington product who spent the last two seasons with the Wheatley Sharks, scored 3 goals, including the game winner for the Chatham Maroons in a 5-4 win Sunday at home.

Ross Krieger and Connor McKinnon had the other Chatham Maroons goals on what was also Breast Cancer Awareness night at Chatham Memorial Arena.

Between the pipes, Parker Butler made 29 saves in the win.

The victory extends Chatham’s winning streak to 7 games, spanning back to October 15 when they lost to the same St. Thomas team.

Chatham will travel to Leamington this Thursday to face the Flyers, before hosting the LaSalle Vipers next Sunday in Chatham.
