The Tri-county Pee Wee #1 team managed to beat Mooretown Red Saturday to remain unbeaten and become the only undefeated Peewee team with a 10-0 record.

With the amazing start that both the Subway Peewee #1 and Mooretown Red teams have had, there was no doubt the game would be exciting.

For the past few weeks Saturday’s game had been marked on the calendar for many parents, players and coaches.  It was a game that eventually would see one of these two unbeaten teams have an opportunity to stay undefeated and it was thrilling to say the least.

Wallaceburg had a quick start and managed to score two minutes in by a goal from first time “AP” player Brody Falconer, who managed to shoot one over the goalie out front of the net.  Mooretown came storming back creating their own chances and eventually scoring one themselves a few minutes later.  With just over a minute remaining in the 1st period Zander Cogghe gave Wallaceburg back the lead.

Mooretown not backing down tied it up scoring an early 2nd period goal but that didn’t last long as Wallaceburg came charging back and regaining the lead by a goal off the stick of Josh Snelgrove.  From there Wallaceburg managed to contain Mooretown, keeping them to 2 goals and sealing the win with another goal by Zander Cogghe late in the 3rd.

Today Wallaceburg celebrated an amazing win as a team against a tough opponent.  Every player stepped up today from our centers who contained players well, our defense who protected our zone, players stepping up and playing different positions to our goalie who continues to impress!  Wallaceburg coaches explained that due to the effort the whole team executed their game plan and stuck to their system they were able to come away with the victory.  This too presented a problem when picking the “player of the game” award, leaving them no choice but to award it to the rightful recipient “The Team”!

Contributing on the score sheet: Zander Cogghe (2G,1A), Josh Snelgrove (1G,2A), Brody Falconer (1G), Aiden Latimer (2A), Ewan MacDonald (1A) and Caiden Leach-Desangher (1A)

Thank-you again to all our parents, family and friends who continue to support us.
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL! ENJOY THE WIN, YOU DESERVE IT!
