Wallaceburg PeeWee #1 Undefeated & Making History

Ewan, Holden and Aiden MacDonald made Wallaceburg minor hockey history on Friday as they played in the same game, on the same team for the first time in their hockey careers.

On Friday night the Wallaceburg Peewee#1 team had a chance to defend their 5-0 record at home against Mooretown Black, and the did just that.

Within the first 15 seconds of the game they opened the scoring and didn’t look back.  By the time the  period won was over the score was 3-0 but Mooretown didn’t back down and kept things interesting in the 2nd where both teams traded chances and goals.

Sticking to their game plan in the 3rd period, Wallaceburg proved to be to much on this night for the Mooretown team adding 7 unanswered goals.  Even though they have been undefeated so far this season this was by far the best game they put together, firing on all cylinders.
As always middle son Holden had a solid defensive game helping his older brother Aiden “Macky” defend his crease with an amazing effort only allowing 1 goal.  But tonight their younger brother Ewan played in front of them as an ‘AP’ player and he didn’t disappoint.  Ewan joined the team seamlessly in his natural position as a center, with aggressive skating and smart positional hockey he was able to help the team with 2 assists and many chances.

More history was made when Josh Snelgrove put up his first ever Hat trick in a 5 point night effort, but not to be out done was Caiden Leach-Desangher who took home Player of the Game chain with his own 5 point night on 4 goals and 1 assist.

Helping out with the 11-1 score and there 6th victory were Aiden Latimer (1G, 1A), Adam Atkins (2G, 1A), Zander Cogghe (1G, 2A), Ross Broadbent (1), Quinlan Fields (1), Ty Myers (3A).  Congrats to all including the coaching staff on an amazing game (and to the parents for their loud cheering)!

Wallaceburg looks to keep the streak alive tonight (Monday, Nov 2) when they face another unbeaten team in Petrolia.
