The Chatham Granite Club has not had a happy start to the holiday season, in fact, they’ve had a number of major incidents putting the well being of the club in jeopardy.

For that reason, the Chatham Granite Club has kickstarted a major fundraising campaign to help cover the growing costs facing the Club.

After replacing the Chatham building’s roof in the summer, the Granite Club suffered a major hit last week when the ice compressor failed, a repair and replacement cost, which will run the Club over $40,000.

That incident was followed by a major plumbing leak, and need for a water heater replacement, pushing the Club even farther into need.

“The Chatham Granite Club has hosted so many community groups, students and families and I’m really hoping they will hear our story and consider donating a few dollars to help keep our club open,” said Melanie DeSchutter, a past president for the Chatham Granite Club, who is helping with the fundraising efforts.

To begin raising funds to keep the Granite Club afloat, the organization has started a “Go Fund Me Page” where more information about the Chatham Granite Club, and how you can help, is located.
