Lakers Teddy Bear Toss Wednesday
The Wallaceburg Lakers are hoping a good deed won’t go unnoticed as the holiday season kicks into stride.
Wallaceburg looks to snap a seven-game losing streak on Wednesday while hosting the Blenheim Blades with their annual Teddy Bear Toss night.
The Blades have won six of their last seven, with a 2-0 loss at home to Dresden on Saturday night. Blenheim is in the midst of celebrating their 50th anniversary season. A win over the Lakers would tie Blenheim for second place in the league standings.
Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears and stuffed animals (as well as other toy donations) to Memorial Arena for the game. When the Lakers score their first goal, the plush toys can be thrown onto the ice. All donations will be split between the Wallaceburg Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.
Puck drop is 7:30 pm.
** NOTE – this is the only time of the hockey season that fans are ALLOWED to throw ANYTHING onto the ice**
