The Kent Teksavvy Cobra’s Bantam AE2 team had a great weekend after coming in second place in the Ground Hog Tournament hosted by South Kent Minor Hockey.

The Kent Cobras team lost their first game on Saturday to Mitchell, 2-1. The lone goal was scored by Doug Labadie, assisted by Tucker Johnston. The Cobras won their second game in the tournament 4-1 against Listowel. Goal scorers were Julian Verleye, Kyran Barr, Doug Labadie and Jacob Cuthbert with assists by Matt Stephenson, Ethan Denure, Doug Labadie, Cameron Duquette and Jacob Cuthbert. Jarrod Carr had the win in net.

The Kent Cobras Bantam’s continued to battle in the semi-final game again against Listowel to win 5-0. Goals scorers were Doug Labadie (2), Jacob Cuthbert, Matt Stephenson and Cameron Duquette. Assists by Cuthbert, Cameron Duquette (2), Devyn Doucet, Doug Labadie and Bret Gardiner. Cole Pomajba had the shut out in net.

The team fell to Mitchell again in the final game 4-1. The lone goal was scored by Ethan Denure.

They then went on to play a third game on Sunday in Tilbury and went on to beat the Belle River Canadiens 3-2 to wrap up their league play and earn home ice advantage going into the OMHA Playdowns. Goal scorers were Jacob Cuthbert (2) and Cameron Duquette with assists by Doug Labadie (2), Cameron Duquette (2) Jacob Cuthbert and Julian Verleye. Cole Pomajba had the win in net.
