The Chatham Maroons enjoyed a winning weekend, defeating the Strathroy Rockets Sunday, and the Lambton Shores Predators Saturday.

Sunday at home, the Maroons cruised by the Strathroy Rockets 6-2. The win moved the Maroons sole possession of second place in the GOJHL’s Western Conference, meaning that if the playoffs started today, Chatham would be playing the same Strathroy Rockets team.

Teddy McGeen scored a pair of goals Sunday, while Michael Levesque, Josh Barraclough, Steven Beenackers, and Blair Derynck all scored for Chatham Sunday.

Parker Butler started in net stopping 29 of the 31 shots he faced in the game.

Saturday in Lambton Shores, the Maroons exploded offensively for a 9-4 win. Teddy McGeen had a hat trick and added two assists, while Ross Krieger had two goals and three assists to lead the way for Chatham.

The Chatham Maroons will be back in action Thursday against the Sarnia Legionnaires in Sarnia.
