Kings Hand Lakers Final Blow
Dillon Liberty had a dominant night on the ice. The Thamesvile resident opened the scoring in the game, and accumulated 5-points, including 2 goals in the first period.
Derrick VanEvery scored a pair in the first period, and Isaac McLean also scored for the Kings who jumped out to a 5-0 lead.
Carter Smith would make it 6-0 early in the second before Wallaceburg sprung to life.
Alex Ritchie scored a pair of second period goals for the Lakers, while Brett Farr and Bronson Bea also scored for the road team.
Ben Nicholls added another for Dresden in the second period, making the score 7-4 after two.
In the third, Will Tetzlaff iced the game for the Kings. Justin Melo would score for the Lakers before the final buzzer, but it was too little too late for Wallaceburg.
The Lakers finished last in the Great Lakes loop, closing their season with a 3-37-0 record, as the only team in the Great Lakes to miss the playoffs.
Dresden finished 7th, and is looking at a first round match up, if the playoffs opened today, against the Amherstburg Admirals.
