The Wallaceburg Lakers travel to Essex tonight to face the 73’s in Jr C Hockey action- Last night Wheatley doubled up Alvinston 6-3
- TJ Brodie picked up an assist but The Calgary Flames could not hang on as the San Jose Sharks snuffed the Flames 5-4 last night in the NHL.
- The Chatham Kent Golden Hawks shut out the UCC Lancers 2-0 in Sr girls High School hockey action. Hunter Gagne and Megan Hakr with the Golden Hawk goals and Wallaceburg’s Emma Gorski scored the shutout. This was thef first time UCC has been defeated in 2 years.
- For the second straight season, Walpole Island’s Kaitlyn Isaac will represent Team Ontario at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships,…The tournament will be held this year in Mississauga, from May 1-7
- The Pines will be the site of a double AA triple AAA Junior Girls high school Volleyball tournament involving most area schools
