The Chatham Maroons have acquired veteran defender Ryan Fraser from the Lambton Shores Predators.

Fraser had collected 6 goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 30 games, along with 97 penalty minutes for the Predators this season.

A 1995 born player, Fraser arrives in Chatham to bolster a relatively inexperienced Maroons blueline.

A 2014-2015 GOJHL All-Star game participant, Fraser, will also add a physical presence to the Maroons’ backend, having accumulated 167 and 148 penalty minutes in his past two seasons respectively.

The captain of the Lambton Shores Predators, Ryan Fraser joins Connor McKinnon as the only other Chatham defender with significant GOJHL experience. Michael Levesque is another 1995 playing defence for the Maroons, but was only converted from forward this season.

Dede Cato will round out Chatham’s top four on the blueline. Cato, who spent time with the Maroons last season, was a recent participant in the GOJHL’s Top Prospects game.

Chatham is back in action Wednesday night on the road in London, and again Friday in St. Marys.
